In this help article we explain how to use custom tags. This is very useful to personalize, but do you want to display the first and last name in an email campaign, for example? In the following help article, Dana explains how to do this:
How do I personalize communication?
Create custom tags
- Add one or more filters
- Add or edit an e-ticket, certificate of participation, automatic e-mail or e-mail campaign
- Click on the Tags button
- Enter an internal name in the popup window and select a type:
- Plain text: personalize text in a sentence (e.g. salutation: sir or madam)
- Rich text: add a paragraph with optional title, link, bulleted list, image or calendar link
- Click on the Add button
- Enter a standard text to be displayed if none of the filters are met
- Click on the Save button
- Click on Add
- Enter a name, select the filter based on which this option should be displayed and fill in the content
- Click on the Save button
- Repeat steps 8 to 10 for each filter
- Click on the Close button once you have added all options and finally on to close the popup window
Insert custom tags
In the editor, go to Personalize > Custom Tags and click on the name of the custom tag you want to insert
Practical tip
By using custom tags you create endless variations in the content of email campaigns. See examples of the different variations:
- Click on the Preview button
- In the popup window, click on the Settings button, select a filter and click on the Preview button to view the variant of the e-ticket/e-mail campaign based on the chosen filter
