How do I set up segments?

Introduction

Segments provide in-depth insights into your event guests and help you interact with them personally.

The different segments

Static segmentGuests in a static segment will always stay in that segment unless you remove them from it. This makes static segments useful, for example, to classify different target groups for your event.
Dynamic segmentYou compose dynamic segments based on one or more conditions. Every time you view, export, or use the segment to send a campaign to, the guests who currently meet the conditions will be used.

Add a static segment

  1. Go to Contacts > Segments
  2. Click on the Add button
  3. Enter an internal name and choose type Static
  4. Click on the Save button

Add a dynamic segment

  1. Go to Contacts > Segments
  2. Click on the Add button
  3. Enter an internal name and choose type Dynamic
  4. Click on the Add button
  5. In the popup window, add the desired condition
  6. Click on the Save button
  7. Repeat steps 4 to 6 for each condition you want to add
  8. Click on the Save button

Good to know
If multiple conditions are set, only guests who meet all conditions will be displayed.

Practical tip
If you want to compose a dynamic segment with guests who, for example, participate on days 1 and 2 but not on days 3 and 4, set two conditions. For the first condition you set that the field 'Choose your days' is not equal to 'day 3' and for the second condition you set that the field 'Choose your days' is not equal to 'day 4'.
